Mobile Hydraulic Repairs: What to Expect On Site

When you call a mobile hydraulic service, the job usually runs like this: you describe the machine, location and fault; we confirm what's likely needed and give you a realistic time frame; the technician comes to you, assesses the fault, and where possible repairs it on site, then tests it before the machine goes back to work.

Flow Force Hydraulics is a local family-run, Appin-based 24/7 mobile hydraulic repair service. Here's what to expect when you call us.

1. The call

Call 0459 698 249, any time. We'll ask:

  • where the machine is (site address or nearest cross street, plus gate codes or induction requirements)

  • what the machine is (excavator, loader, tipper, forklift, tractor or industrial machine)

  • what's happened (burst hose, leak, slow or weak function, drifting cylinder)

Photos of the failed part, both fitting ends and the machine's make and model plate help us bring the right hose and fittings. We'll confirm what's likely needed and give you a realistic time frame.

2. Before we arrive: make it safe

  • Stop the machine and shut it down, or isolate the power on electric equipment.

  • Lower buckets, forks, tipper bodies and booms to the ground or onto proper supports.

  • Keep people clear of any spray or pooled oil, and contain spills away from drains and waterways.

  • Don't touch the leak. Oil under pressure can inject through the skin. If that happens, call 000.

  • Don't try a temporary fix with tape or clamps. They won't hold hydraulic pressure.

3. On site: assessment

The technician will follow your site's sign-in and induction rules, then look at the fault and talk you through what's needed.

4. The repair

Hoses: replacement hoses are made and crimped on the spot, matched to the original size, fitting ends and pressure rating. We don't fit a lower-rated substitute.

Cylinders and rams: we remove them on site and take them away for resealing or a rebuild, then bring them back and refit them. Bigger jobs, such as a bent rod, scored barrel or internal damage, go through trusted specialist workshops for a rebuild.

5. Testing and handover

Before the machine goes back to work, the repair is tested and checked for leaks. We'll show you what failed and mention anything else we noticed that's worth keeping an eye on.

6. Paperwork and accounts

  • Fully insured, with $20 million public liability cover.

  • Written quotes are in AUD, exclude GST and are valid for 7 days.

  • 30-day accounts are available for approved customers.

Where we work

We're based in Appin and service the surrounding suburbs, from Wollongong to Penrith and Hornsby, working on hydraulic systems in earthmoving machinery, trucks and tippers, farm equipment and industrial machinery. Further afield on request.

Quick checklist for the call

  1. Location and access details

  2. Machine make and model

  3. What failed and what it's doing

  4. Photos of the part and both fitting ends

Machine down? Flow Force Hydraulics is available 24/7. Call 0459 698 249.

A cylinder that drifts, slows down or can't hold a load is telling you something. Here are the common causes, the simple checks you can do safely, and when a reseal or a rebuild makes sense.
